Stavia's First Hair Cut!
Stavia FINALLY got her first haircut. I was finally able to give in. It looks so much healthier. I should have given in a long time ago =(
There was flu and other illness going around a couple weeks ago and Stavia picked up something. We aren't sure what she had other than a fever but it made her completely lethargic. PERFECT time for a haircut. She sat still the entire time and did just what she was told. She didn't have enough energy to fight it.
Here is my cute little sick girl before her haircut. You can tell by her eyes that she's miserable =(
Here is the incredibly patient sickling holding still while Aunt Anna gives her a hair cut.
This hair cut is six weeks before her third birthday and this is all she had to spare... She is a woman of few hairs.
After! Like I said, she was sick so I wasn't going to fight her on looking at the camera. She already did a great job sitting still and listening throughout the entire haircut. She looks older! All ready to be three!!

Super Hawkeye Fans!
For Christmas I made Ryker and Stavia Super Fan Capes. They aren't high quality but the kids have fun with them. One night before bed they wanted to show off.

Happy St. Patricks Day!!
To those of you that haven't given up on me, THANK YOU! I am trying to do a better job with all this blogging business. I'm just not very good about taking pictures so that doesn't help matters at all =(
Today I made a green lunch. It's a tradition my mom started when I was little and I'm trying to carry it on to my kids.
They had so much fun grocery shopping earlier this week picking out things that are green. We had corned beef, cabbage and new potatoes. All of our sides were green: green peas, asaragus, lime jello, granny smith apples, kiwi and mint milkshakes for dessert! I think that's all? It was so fun this year because Ryker and Stavia are old enough to help with prep for the meal and set the table. They ate all of their food because of the theme and asked if we can do it again! They get do do it sooner than they think because I made so much food they will have the same meal for leftovers tonight..oops!

Homemade Pizza!
I'm a fan of The Pioneer Woman. I'm not a crazy fanatic like some people...not that that's a bad thing. I just like her recipes and her sense of humor and her taste in clothes and the fact that she makes living on a ranch look like fun and not boring/too much work and I like that she homeschools her kids and still loves her husband and...ok maybe I am a crazy fan. Oops!
I'm not addicted enough to check her blog very often. But when I do I always find something yummy to try. I found this recipe for pizza crust a while ago and decided to try it. We had a bunch of different specialty cheeses around the house around the holidays and this was the perfect way to finish them up!
We had some odd combos. This one was tomato sauce, italian sausage, green olives and smoked gouda.
Olive oil, garlic, ground turkey, feta and cheddar (I think)
Ham, tomato sauce, green olives, smoked gouda.
We did some odd combos but they turned out good. If nothing else, at least our kids are getting use to exploring new foods!Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Snow day!
Justys was able to come to our house for a couple hours right before Christmas so all three kids (and dad) were able to play in the snow together! It was good to have a little bit of time with him. We hadn't seen him since August! He is getting so big and responsible! After Christmas he stayed with us for a couple of days until his step-dad was deployed and they had to rush back to the army base... But some time is always better than no time!
