Hayrack Ride

Last Saturday (September 22, 2007), the Millers went on a hay rack ride. It was sponsored by our church and it was part of the international ministry. We have a Korean friend that we were set up with this spring so we've been trying to show her some Iowa and American traditions. We have done lots of things with her, we brought her to the fireworks on July 4th, she has gone to parades with us, the Iowa State Fair, we have had her to our house for American meals. We have done many things with her to help her experience America. We have lots of fun with her. When she first met Justys she didn't really know what to think, he was so little but he could speak English so clearly (and fast). Now the two of them get along very well and tease each other a lot.

Back to the hay rack ride, there were about 50 Asian people, a couple African people and about 10 white people. Our Church wasn't very well represented... There were so many internationals looking for American friends and there were not so many Americans looking for international friends. We forgot to bring our camera, but there was a guy there named Tim Lin that was taking pictures of his family and he got some of Ryker. All the Asians were amazed at a baby with blond hair and blue eyes.

Ryker was handing everyone pieces of hay.

Here is Justys, part of Jed, Ryker and me.

I am still working on getting some pictures of Rykers first birthday so stay tuned!
